Optical Mice Vs Ball Mice

The debate between which mouse type has dragged on for a while now. With everyday users opting for a laser mouse (optical) and gamers a ball mouse. I personally prefer optical. What do you think?

How to maintain good battery life

To maintain good battery life it is essential not to overcharge your battery. You also have to manage your usage habits. Dont leave your laptop charging all night unless you have completely used all the battery life.

To make the battery last longer when not plugged into the mains you can change the performance settings. Most modern laptops have this feature which enables the screen to be dimmed and the performance to be lowered. This way you will get the most battery life but you will have to find your own perfect balance, between performance and battery life.

Fujitsu Laptop Casing Problem

My sister recently bought a Fujitsu laptop for use at college. The laptop usually just gets left at home and never moved from the living room. Even though the laptop has never been transported often, the casing in the bottom right side of the laptop is splitting apart. As well as this one of the hinges has come loose which supports the screen.

To say the machine is only a few month old I think this is very poor build quality and would definitely put me off buying a fujitsu system in the future. Has anybody else experienced a similar problem?

HP Bluetooth PC Card Mouse

Who ever designed this bit of kit is a genius! Finally I have found a use for the card slot in my laptop (which in most cases never gets used by anybody). The PC Card Mouse is a card shaped mouse which operates using bluetooth technology. It works in the same way as any wireless mouse but because of its shape it can fit into your Card Slot on your machine which charges it for 10 hours useage. Also because it uses bluetooth there is no need for an annoying dongle to be plugged into the usb slot.

HP Compaq 6820 REVIEW

Compaq 6820s

Compaq 6820s

For my first review what better laptop to discuss than my own machine. TheĀ HP 6820 is my laptop which I predominantly use for work. It has 2 GB of RAM so can easily run Photoshop and Dreamweaver at the same time. There are not many bad things to say about this machine.

Up until now it has not put a foot wrong and is still as quick as the first time I booted her up. The only bad point about the laptop is that the shift key is half the size of a normal shift key and the other half is replaced with the up arrow. I am now used to this so it is not a problem for me but it does take some getting used to.

Apart from that i think it is a very solid machine and comes with Vista Business so can be linked to a server and network. Click the image below to go to the Misco site where I bought the laptop and see more information.

Welcome to Laptops Today

Before I purchased my first ever laptop I was unsure if I should ditch my conventional PC Desktop machine and go mobile. The main reason for this is the performance side of things. I am a web designer and I need my machine to be able to run a few big programmes at once (photoshop, dreamweaver etc.).

When I recieved the laptop I was so sure I had made a good decision. Much quicker than my old Desktop and you can sit anywhere in the house providing you have a wireless connection. So now I can work from home in the garden on a hot summers day!

The main purpose of this website blog is to give advice on buying laptops and what you should go for depending on your requirements. I will post new products every day or so giving specifications and other important information.

If you would like to ask me a question about any of the products I mention then please leave a comment on that post and I will get back to you as soon as possible.

Hope I help a few people out and thanks for reading.
